Katherine has been happily married to her husband, Reese, for thirteen years. This is her first children’s book.

Sara Burrier is what you might call an imaginative children’s book illustrator who enjoys painting the unknown & fantastical. Growing up in an artistic household herself, she teaches at The Des Moines Art Center mentoring children from the ages of 6 to 17 years to be imaginative. She has licensed her artwork since she graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, aiming to bring what she loves into the world of retail and in children’s books. She enjoys all the possibilities watercolor has to offer and bringing the rhythm of life into all of her pieces. Her work reflects on the light of love and the emotions we live through as human beings. She currently lives in Iowa with her husband and their two cats Madeline & Talor. Sara can be found online at
